SHS-CIT applies world best practice methods for the investigation of incidents and evidence collection at crime or accident scenes we attend.
We strongly believe in the application of the Locard principles of investigation which states that whenever two objects come into contact with one another there will be a transfer of evidence.
With collaboration between SHS-CIT and local law enforcement agencies, we investigate crime scenes, compile evidence, interview witnesses, identify and apprehend criminal elements.
Case files are compiled and prepared to the highest standard and comprises of evidence logs, case history, records of resources and any other documents required to complete a full case file. A copy of the completed case file can be made available to law enforcement agencies should it be required.
We also provide a polygraph service and examination and detection of forged and falsified documentation.
INDUSTRIAL INCIDENT AND ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS
The investigation of industrial incidents and accidents are based on the systematic process of gathering information, evidence and verifying facts related to the event through observations, inquiries, statements and careful evidence analysis.
Industrial incidents and accidents are investigated using various internationally recognized and approved methodologies.
The primary aim of industrial incident and accident investigations is to minimize loss, minimize damage to reputation and the prevention of future recurrences through the identification of corrective and preventative measures that address the root cause of these incidents.

ROAD ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS
The investigation of road accidents is a specialised field of investigation. SHS-CIT work in close collaboration with the Metro Police Departments specialised investigation unit in determining the causes of fatal and serious road accidents.
In some instances, road accidents need to be reconstructed to determine the motions and movements of vehicles and objects prior to, during and post incident. For this function SHS-CIT will team up with specialised investigators and investigation units.
Independent investigators, such as SHS-CIT are normally hired by insurance companies or attorneys of the parties involved in an accident to determine the causes of the accident.
The function of the independent investigator is to analyse the causes of the accident so that liability and/or financial responsibility can be determined.
The investigation of road accidents includes an inspection of the accident scene, collection and analysis of physical evidence such as residual markings, the physical examination of the involved vehicles and their components as well as the driver abilities, competencies and state of mind at the time of the accident.
PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS
SHS-CIT extends its investigation services to the public through its private investigations component.
We provide covert extra-marital investigations, surveillance, counter surveillance, finding of missing persons, covert workplace surveillance and drug related investigations.
We provide a corporate investigative service where we investigate suspected corruption and fraud as well as investigating the authenticity of documentation and qualifications.
